Cuban Summer Salsa Camp 2024 by ElStudio at Idrætshøjskolen Bosei

Week 30 - 21st - 27th of July 2024

If you like Cuban rhythms, this is where it happens! Come and learn how to dance, or get new inspiration if you already do. This year we have the 20th anniversary of the Camp, and it is our 6th year at Idrætshøjskolen Bosei, and it is going to be just amazing.

This year we have the following 6 levels: improver, intermediate 1, intermediate 2, advanced 1, advanced 2 and very advanced. We will also have some master class workshops. Everyone can participate, both singles and couples. Come and join us for an experience for life, meet new people, and learn a lot of dance.

Camp - guide

We expect around 240 participants this year. Every year we have 30% couples and 70% singles from all over the country, and the rest of Scandinavia, and a few from the rest of Europe, that participate in our fantastic camp. Read a lot more at ElStudios webpage.

The Salsa levels

There will be 6 different levels:

1: Improver
2: Intermediate 1

3: Intermediate 2
4: Advanced 1
5: Advanced 2
6: Very Advanced

There are 5 hours of classes daily with pauses, two times a day. (The classes are in different rooms).

The Salsa classes

The classes are very intensive. You will on the course besides Salsa, also learn a little: Reggaetón, Bachata, Son, Afro-Cuban dance and Rumba.

These dances will only be danced in the afternoon. Before that, there will only be teached in Salsa.

You don’t need to have a dance partner to participate, but it is always a good idea to try to find a friend, that will join., as we always pursue to have equally amount of men and women.

If you go to dance classes, you can ask one from your dancing team, if the Salsa Camp could be something for them. You shift dancing partners all the time, on every team, so everyone will get danced with a lot of different people.

To you, who have never tried to dance Salsa before, we can say, that everyone who went to the Salsa Camp last year, have learned to dance when the camp was over.

To all your, who already dance, we always have some new to bring to the table. The classed are very inspiring, and fun to do.

Program

Arrival on Sunday

Arrival Sunday between 15:00 to 18:00.

19:00 – 20:00: Dinner

20:30 – 21:00: Information meeting in the big sports hall

21:00 – 24:00: Salsa dancing

Classes from Monday to Friday

*Monday afternoon there is the opportunity to buy dance shoes*

In the evening there is more dance, where we make the sports hall, into a Salsa Discotek, so everyone can train what they have learned during the day and have fun together. We have a nice, cheap bar.

08:15 – 09:15: Breakfast

09:30 – 09:45: Morning meeting

09:45 – 11:30: Salsa Classes

11:30 – 11:45: Break (fruit and juice)

11:45 – 13:00: Salsa Classes and a bit of Rueda de Casino

13:00 – 13:30: Lunch

13:30 – 15:30: Relaxation (possibly a trip to the beach)

15:30 – 16:00: Coffee and cake

14:00-16:00 Workshops: Choose between Afro Cuban classes and Rumba classes with live music

16:00 – 18:00: Workshops: Choose between Son, Salsa Men/Lady Styling, Bachata, Reggaetón, Rumba, Afro Cuban dance with live music

18:10 – 19:10: The swimming pool is open

18:10 – 19:10: The bar is open

19:30 – 20:30: Dinner

20:30-21:30: Several lectures, in Cuban dances and music, and culture

21:00 – 01:00: Evening Salsa disco (party night Friday to 03:00)

There is a long break in the middle of the day (Monday-Friday), so you have time to relax, go to the beach, enjoy a walk in the city, or get a lovely message from our fantastic masseuse.

We end the last day with a big party with live music. Program and links for registration will come up later.

This events is open for everyone. They are included in the price for the Camp participants.

Guests that do not participate in the camp, can book a ticket with or without accommodation. We recommend purchasing your ticket well in advance. There is a limited amount of tickets and it’s first come first serve. You book by sending an email ti [email protected]

Tickets for Gala Party with live music are 150 DKK.
Tickets for Friday Gala Dinner and Party are 400 DKK.
Tickets for Friday Gala Dinner, Party and free bar are 600 DKK.
Tickets with one night stay in a tent (that you bring yourself), Friday dinner, party and breakfast the day after, 700 DKK.

Saturday is a departure day

10:00 – 11:00: Check-out from the rooms

Accommodation

Only 1 hour from Copenhagen. Fantastic place and the loveliest facilities 🙂 !

The main building was originally a sanatorium, and since they have expanded with Japanese inspired buildings.

There is a swimming hall, different activity- and sport rooms, and fantastic natural environment.

There is also a Japanese library, creativ workshop, music room and much more. Around the buildings there is woods, a soccer field, tennis courts and more.

It is not far away from the ocean, so it is possible to also take a beach trip.

Prices and other information

Prices 2024 – Early Bird before 2nd of April!

Early Bird! Register for the Salsa Camp 2024 until April 2nd and save up to 1000 DKK. You do not need a sign-up partner to register, but if you do have one, then you can save money.

SALSA CAMP WITH ACCOMMODATION

Prices include course and all activities, as well as accommodation and full board.

Early Bird prices before 2nd of April:

Double room*: DKK 6.500,- (with a sign-up partner DKK 5.500,-)

Tent or camper/camping trailer that you bring yourself: DKK 5.500,- (with a sign-up partner DKK 4.500,-)

Prices after 2nd of April:

Double room*: DKK 7.000,- (with a sign-up partner DKK 6.000,-)

Tent or camper/camping trailer: DKK 6.000,- (with a sign-up partner DKK 5.000,-)

* If you snore, you will be placed in a room with another person who snores (this only applies to participants without a room partner)

Do you need a sign up partner in order to get a discount and you do not have one, then we can put you on a waiting list. As soon as we get one, we will contact you, so you can register with the discount. At the moment the list is full if you are a women but men can still sign up at the list. SALSA CAMP WITHOUT ACCOMMODATION

Most participants choose to stay at Bosei Sports College, but you can also participate as a day participant, without staying at the school. You get access to all activities, also afternoon and evening. The price includes the course, breakfast, fruit, and water during the day, lunch, afternoon tea, coffee & cake, dinner and party/dinner the last night.

Course with full board without accommodation:

Early Bird price before 2nd of April DKK 4.500,- (with a sign-up partner DKK 3.500,-)

Price after 2nd of April DKK 5.000,- (with a sign-up partner DKK 4.000,-)

Day participant, full board without accommodation: As a full day participant, you have access to all activities. Including the course, breakfast, fruit & water, lunch, afternoon tea/coffe/cake, dinner every evening and party dinner Friday night.

How to sign up

You can only register if you have a registration partner. When you and your partner are ready to sign up, you send us a single email. If you do not have a registration partner, then you have to write to us and you will be on a list. Sign up partner must be of the opposite sex. You do not have to dance or live with that person.

Please note that your registration is binding. By signing up you are agreeing to us filming and taking photos during the camp.

Payment is made upon registration. You will receive a registration link and a payment link by writing to at [email protected]. Once you have paid for the course and stay via the link, you are registered.

All correspondence regarding the Salsa Camp, content etc. takes place by contacting ElStudio.

Cancellation policy

In the case of cancellation, the following rules apply:

It is a binding registration but for cancellations the latest the 1st of May we charge a 1.000,- DKK administration fee.

By cancellations the latest 2 months before, we charge 50% of the full amount. If you cancel later than this, there is no possibility of a refund. In case of illness and the like, we refer to cancellation insurances etc.

Rooms & tents

We have space for approx. 200 participants in total. There are 60 double rooms.

And space for 15 to 30 tents or caravans.

You can also participate without staying at the camp.

Every year we have 30% couples and 70% singles from all over the country, and the rest of Scandinavia, and a few from the rest of Europa, that participates in our fantastic salsa camp.

Participate in all our activities, without accomodation

It is also possible to participate only at the course, and all the activities, without staying at Bosei Sports College.

We will ask everyone to bring their towels, sheets and bedding (not duvets and pillows). There are not private baths, but shared baths in the halls, that are separated in gender. These bath is also used by those who sleeps in the tents.

Remember track suits, soft shoes or dancing shoes. The first day it is possible to buy dancing shoes down here.

Arrival Sunday evening

Everyone arrives at the school between 15:00 – 18:00.
